It was a Beechcraft Baron 58, a privateer, with four passengers and a snake on board.

Erasmus says that the travelers fell silent on hearing this. “I think everyone froze at that moment.”
Pilots are trained for a variety of situations, but the curriculum does not include how to deal with snakes in the cockpit. They say the situation could have been more serious if there had been chaos.The plane made an emergency landing in the city of Welkom.
